Freelance opportunities for comic book editors have spiked in recent years, both with publishers and independent creators. And even though it’s a specialized field of editing, thanks to this introductory session, you’ll be one step closer to understanding the charm and challenges of comics as a medium. Through samples showing simple to more complex errors, as well as comparisons of pre- and post-edited images and pages, you’ll develop an appreciation for the skills required of a comic editor—something you may be able to bring to a project in the future.

Call to Editors Canada AGM

Dear Editors BC members,

The Editors Canada AGM will be held via Zoom on Thursday, June 26, at 4 p.m. PDT/7 p.m. EDT. To review the strategic plan and call to AGM, please log in via the members portal on the Editors Canada website.

All members are encouraged to review the strategic plan, attend the AGM, and have their voices heard. If you can’t make the meeting, please consider assigning a proxy to vote on the motions that have been submitted.

To designate a proxy, please download the form from the website (under Proxy information), fill it in, and send it to your proxy holder before June 20. You may also appoint the national secretary as your proxy holder by emailing your signed proxy to secretary@editors.ca by June 20.

The deadline for members to register for the AGM or submit a proxy is this Friday, June 20, 2025.
