Calling editors and other word nerds!

Inquiring minds want to know . . . what’s on your bookshelf? Or in that pile of books on your desk or floor, or your stash of online links or files?

In the spirit of sharing resources and supporting each other’s professional lives, Editors BC and Editors Canada members are invited to submit a short piece about their “bookshelf” for posting in West Coast Editor, Editors BC’s official blog.

Here are the guidelines:

  • Highlight up to four titles you find especially interesting or valuable (or simply love). Your favourites don’t necessarily have to be about editing or writing, but words should be their focus.
  • Aim for a total length between 150 and 300 words.
  • How much to say about each resource is up to you. For some examples, take a look at these past postings from BoldFace, Editors Toronto’s official blog.
  • Conclude with a sentence about yourself and the city/province where your bookshelf is located (see BoldFace examples).
  • Take a photo of your physical bookshelf or the books you’ve included (hi-res & .png if possible).
  • Send your submission as a Word doc (with photo if applicable) to westcoasteditor@editors.ca.

We hope to feature various “bookshelves” as an occasional series, so the timeline for submissions is open. Questions or suggestions are also welcome!
