Editors British Columbia is pleased to launch West Coast Editor at its new home here at editorsbc.ca.
What you need to know
While we anticipated a seamless transition from WordPress.com to WordPress.org, in this transitional stage “editorsbc.blog” may be temporarily unavailable (because no development plan survives contact with an automated system). But if you are reading this from that domain, then the transfer is complete—welcome!
Please read on for bookmarking and subscription steps.
Regular readers
Once the domain transfer is complete, regular readers should not notice a difference in accessing the blog from bookmarks and other links for the time being. However, “editorsbc.blog” will be phased out over the next year, so we recommend updating your bookmarks and other links to “https://editorsbc.ca” now.
Subscribers
As we mentioned before the move, subscribers need to update their preferences to receive email notifications again. Whether you signed up using a WordPress.com account or your email address only, you can manage your email notifications through the WordPress.com Reader to continue receiving our newsletter/emails.
- Go to https://wordpress.com/reader/subscriptions.
- Enter the email address you used to subscribe and click “Continue.”
- If you use your WordPress.com account, put in your password as usual.
- If you do not use a WordPress.com account, the site will email you with one-time access. Open your email account and click the “Log in now” link in the “Log in to WordPress.com” email.
Once the WordPress.com Reader “Manage subscribed sites” page opens:
- Find West Coast Editor (editorsbc.ca) in the list of your subscribed sites.
- Click on the “More actions” ellipses for the site.
- Toggle on the “Receive emails” button that appears in the popup menu.

That’s it! We look forward to sharing West Coast Editor with you from our new home.
NOTE: If you are an email subscriber who is not currently receiving notifications, or cannot log in using these steps, please either email webmaster [at] editorsbc [dot] ca or subscribe directly to the new site using the “Subscribe” option in the sidebar.
